I think part of what has me shaking my head so much over the Republican/Catholic pearl-clutching over Obama’s birth control mandate is this:

My mom is employed at a Catholic hospital. I get my health insurance through her job. I’m on the Pill, and since I went on it ~17 months ago, it’s been fully covered. No copay. So long as I get my refills from the affiliated (another hospital, same umbrella organization, still Catholic) outpatient pharmacy. And I don’t have to pick up my refills either, I just call in (usually around 10 or 11pm, so I get the recording) about a week before I need the refill and they mail it to my parents’ house.

So, it’s not like a lot of Catholic institutions don’t already cover birth control in their insurance policies, they’re just going to be required to do so.
