hey John is it ok you’re being cast as a woman in the CBS version?

God forbid a character be reimagined as a WOMAN. Worst thing ever, definitely.

What I have a problem with certainly isn’t that Watson is going to be female. So what? That’s kind of awesome, actually. But Sherlock is still a man, putting the female into the sidekick role and implying that a woman couldn’t pull off being the main character.

Also the way that they’re re-imagining Watson’s character: no longer a war hero or army doctor, but a surgeon who’s lost her license. Implying that women can’t fight for their countries and are also incompetent in fields like medicine which are male-dominated.
